The secondary standards were identified during PV phase, when the wavelength dispersion was initially determined based on :ref:`observations of planetary nebulae `. We do not expect to be able to derive a suitably accurate full dispersion solution from the secondary standards. This is due to a likely insufficient spatial density of sources with suitably spectral features. However, we do expect sufficiently many features to reveal a significant drift from the currently established wavelength solution, indicating the need for recalibration with :ref:`calobs-nisp-spec-wavelength-dispersion-pn`.
