CALPRODUCT-VS-016: VIS Nonlinearity

Parent requirement

Scheduling

Monthly cadence of 16x NL sequences during nominal operation. 32x NL sequences during PV phase.

Time-critical

No.

Objective

Determine the VIS detection chain nonlinearity. A dense stellar field is observed with different exposure times, bracketed by pre-exposure flush and post-exposure read-out. The open shutter acqusition implies that the image object will have flush and read-out trails. The resulting trails must be dealt with at software level. Complementary, the nonlinearity is also calibrated using a sequence of LED flats. The NL estimated from the PTC can be used for further verification of this calibration product. The nonlinearity must be determined for each detector quadrant.
