CALPRODUCT-NP-007: NISP-P PSF Model

Parent requirement

Not in the CalCD-B

Scheduling

Monthly.

Time-critical

No.

Objective

Calibrate / validate the NISP PSF Model.

The position of brighter NISP sources must be known with an accuracy smaller than 0.1 pixel. This requires a PSF model that is robust against undersampling and e.g. intra-pixel sensitivity variations. In the Self-cal field with its stellar density of about \(2\;{\rm arcmin^{-2}}\), a single NISP detector will see about 200 stars in the range 16-21 AB mag in a single exposure, or 12000 stars after 60 dithers, per filter. Currently, there are no formalized requirements on a NISP PSF model. It is assumed that 12000 stars per detector are sufficient.
