Objective

Validate the wavelength dispersion model based on secondary wavelength calibrators in the Self-cal field. The secondary standards were identified during PV phase, when the wavelength dispersion was initially determined based on observations of planetary nebulae.

We do not expect to be able to derive a suitably accurate full dispersion solution from the secondary standards. This is due to a likely insufficient spatial density of sources with suitably spectral features. However, we do expect sufficiently many features to reveal a significant drift from the currently established wavelength solution, indicating the need for recalibration with CALPRODUCT-NS-008: NISP-S Wavelength Dispersion with Planetary Nebulae.
